Portable Outboard
Repair & Service

From a motor that will not start to a well-loved classic ready for another season, start with a conversation.

01 / DIAGNOSE & REPAIR

Find the cause.

Good service starts with getting to know your motor. If it’s running and ready for routine care, a $50 service inspection normally includes cold and hot running checks and a written report. If something isn’t right, or its condition is uncertain, a $100 diagnostic assessment provides test results and recommendations to help you decide what comes next.

I’ll talk you through the findings, explain the options and prepare an estimate based on an in-person assessment. Your assessment fee covers the report, estimate preparation and any disassembly needed to prepare it. This is a standalone service, charged separately from the repairs or servicing you choose.

Once you’re happy with the plan, we confirm the estimate and service agreement. With payment arranged in advance, I can get your approved work underway.

02 / SERVICE & MAINTAIN

Keep it working.

Spend more time enjoying your motor, with the confidence that comes from regular, thoughtful care. From engine cleaning, oil changes and tune-ups to linkage lubrication, water-pump and lower-unit maintenance, I tailor servicing to your motor, its use and its service history.

Join my maintenance program and I’ll fit a free hour meter, with servicing planned around engine hours and time between visits. You’ll receive a written service report recording the work completed, relevant test results and recommendations—building a useful history of your motor’s care.

At each visit, I compare relevant results with previous readings, where available and taken under comparable conditions, to keep an eye on engine health. Tracking changes helps identify developing issues early and guide preventative maintenance, supporting dependable running and helping your motor stay in service for years to come.

03 / REFURBISH & RESTORE

Give it another chapter.

A well-made motor deserves another chapter. Whether you want to return an old favourite to sound working condition or restore its appearance as closely as practical to the day it left the factory, I’ll work with you to shape the project around the result you want.

Selected recommissioning and restoration work can include mechanical repairs, component reconditioning, suitable metal surface treatments, buffing and polishing, paint systems and protective finishes. We can focus on dependable operation, refresh tired surfaces or bring the mechanical and cosmetic work together in a more complete restoration.

Through consultation, we’ll agree on the scope, finish and budget, taking account of condition, parts availability and practical value. I’ll explain the options and what can realistically be achieved, so we can preserve the character you love while giving your motor a new lease of life.
